Tours begin at the former Piasa Masonic Temple, now known as Spirits Lounge.
With any luck, some of the old spirits, like “Mr. Butt Print,” will be waiting for us!
All tours include a three-hour trolley jaunt to some Alton’s most sinister haunts…
- The enigmatic McPike Mansion. Sitting vacant, aside from its ghostly inhabitants, this historic dwelling is the epitome of a haunted house. Join in a dark room session in the vaulted wine cellar – where many elemental spirits reside.
- Ghost hunters can take part in an actual ghost hunt in the old Noll’s Bakery and Confectionary Co. This historic building, dating to 1875, contains secret passageways and psychic hot spots that have kept the EMF detectors active during investigations.
- The Alton City Cemetery is home to many of Alton’s finest families – some have gone to their final resting place while others remain in the vicinity of the markers that bear their name. We’ll visit the tomb of one of the Joesting Brothers – and learn why the brothers are buried on opposite sides of the necropolis.
Ghost hunters are encouraged to bring cameras and ghost hunting equipment. Dinner tours include a
sumptuous meal prepared by Spirit's Lounge. Tours begin at Spirits Lounge, 300 State Street, Alton, IL.
(please note that this is NOT the Franklin Masonic Lodge where the tours were started last year).
